“Comer Barn”

by Judy Henry

Judy has had a lifelong passion for drawing and painting.

After a 30-year career in healthcare finance, she returned to her first love, earning her BFA in Fine Arts from the University of Louisville in 2016. Her final exhibition explored contemporary portraiture inspired by the dramatic chiaroscuro style of 17th-century Caravaggisti.

Today, Judy creates figurative oil paintings, including portraits, pet portraits, and place-based works. Her commissioned pieces are held both locally and internationally,  and she is an active member of Monthaven Arts & Cultural Center and Bugg Hollow Plein Air Painters.

Born in Rosine, Kentucky and raised in Middle Tennessee, David Wright is a highly acclaimed artist known for capturing the region’s scenic beauty and rich American history. With more than forty years of painting experience and advanced study in Europe, his work has earned numerous awards and placement in prestigious museums and private collections.

Rising to national prominence in the 1970s through his limited edition landscape prints, Wright went on to focus fully on fine art, becoming widely recognized for his historically informed portrayals of the American frontier, Civil War, settlers, and American Indians. He now ranks among America’s premier artists and resides in Gallatin, Tennessee.

“Catching Peace”

Watercolorist Cathy Dunn was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. After a long career teaching mathematics in the Cleveland, Ohio area, Dunn settled just outside of Nashville, Tennessee a few years ago. Discovering her passion for painting after retiring and taking some watercolor painting classes, she is now continuing her formal art education in the classroom and through self-study.

Though she dabbles in many mediums, Dunn’s passion is representational watercolor painting. While her subject matter varies from landscape to portrait and everything in between, Dunn’s style has a calm serenity and vibrant but soft color palette that unifies her body of work and gives the viewer a sense of peace.

With a life-long interest in art and a passion for drawing, Steve has studied in many mediums including (but not limited to) graphite, oil painting, and eventually discovered watercolor painting was where he wanted to focus. His love of fishing, boating and nature have been fuel for his painting endeavors and he is lucky enough to be surrounded by Tennessee’s incredible landscapes, where a plethora of historic barns, waterway and other vistas offer prime scenery for his favorite way to paint: en Plein Air.

Her rhythmic, often chaotic patterns and bold palettes evoke emotion and energy, blending structured design with spontaneous expression to capture her youthful, passionate spirit.

“Happy Home”

Ronn began his art career at a very early age, progressing though various styles and mediums throughout his life. His formal art education began at Auburn University, continuing in Taos, NM where he worked on multiple occasions with one his favorite artists, Michelle Torrez.  

After much experimentation, Hollis eventually landed on the acrylic-based contemporary expressionist style you see today.  His intentional use of bold, bright colors partnered with an impasto painting technique adds energy and emotion to his each and every one of his pieces.

He pursued Fine Arts, Illustration, and Graphic Design in Nashville, earning both Associates and Bachelor’s degrees. Early in his career, he worked as a printer while freelancing as an artist and designer, creating custom screen prints for self-produced art shows. In 2015, Baker and his wife purchased All About Art Gallery in Hendersonville, TN, where he continues to create original artwork and promote local artists.

City Square Facelift Is Underway!

Renovations on the facade of our building have officially BEGUN!! Though we are excited for this final piece of the recovery puzzle, we want to encourage you to PLEASE USE CAUTION when visiting us during this time, there is quite a bit of debris in the parking lot and along the sidewalk, along with several pieces of heavy machinery and items being moved from the top of the building

We have been informed that this facelift will take several months to complete. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, we anticipate to continue normal business practices and hours during the construction, but be sure to continue to follow us closely on socials in case we need to make any last minute updates, and of course always feel free to contact us with questions!

A graduate of The Cleveland Institute of Art and Cooper School of Art as an architectural Illustrator. Jim served two years in the U.S. Army working as a draftsman / illustrator while playing basketball for Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana.

In the late 1970s Jim started producing limited edition, silkscreen prints of Cleveland. As this project grew, he expanded his work to feature the cities and countries that he and his wife love to frequent, including Chicago, New Orleans, Detroit, Mobile, Orlando, Pittsburgh, San Juan, Paris, Rome, as well as our very own Nashville, Tennessee.

Santa Cop Toy Drive 2024: The RESULTS!!

What a perfect way to spend our time on Giving Tuesday, loading up the items from our 6th annual donation to the Hendersonville, TN Police Department’s Santa Cop Program! We once again partnered with our incredible neighbors at New Beginnings Furniture TN and so many of our patrons to collect enough toys to fill 3 vehicles and $5,862 in CASH DONATIONS We always aim to beat our best and this year we most definitely succeeded! Thanks to everyone who donated toys, cash and participated in the Auction at our Christmas Open House, children, families, and senior citizens will be guaranteed Christmas Cheer. And if there are any remaining funds after everyone is taken care of for the Holidays, the additional funds go towards helping individual citizens in Hendersonville when possible, during their darkest hours. Our hearts are so full from all of your generosity and we are already preparing for next year!

We also had fun with the officers while we drew names for the 33 prizes we had to give away to some of the individuals who made cash and toy donations (every toy or every $10 earned you an entry towards a prize of your choice!) It was so rewarding to call those who won and give them the great news.

Thank you a hundred times over to all of the individuals and surrounding local businesses who contributed and helped make this year’s event a success. We are so thankful that we are part of a community that can come together and help each other.
